Google Campus Work Wins Pollinator Partnership Award

June 2024

Creating habitat through coordinated actions.

Our work with Google’s California campuses has been recognized with the Monarch Sustainer of the Year Award from the Pollinator Partnership – awarded to Google after creating 20 acres of new monarch habitat from 2021 to 2023. We worked with Google’s Nature & Biodiversity Program, led by Dr. Erin Beller, and numerous site partners to install tens of thousands of monarch-friendly plants. Nectar-producing flowering plants and host milkweed plants have created year-round refuges for both the Google community and pollinators to enjoy. This has been an remarkable initiative, establishing an extensive amount of habitat within an urban setting by aligning actions across numerous sites with a strong ecological strategy. Congratulations to Google and the many team members who’ve worked together to demonstrate what’s possible through coordinated ecological actions.
